In January 2015, the Quality Improvement Team at the Coordinating Center reviewed fifty-two hospital Quality Improvement Summaries and corresponding attachments. The summaries outlined goals, objectives, implementation measures and an evaluation of their efforts. The quality of work towards improving outcomes throughout the collaborative was impressive; however a few of the projects were exceptional. The summary of their work demonstrated extensive planning, implementation of processes, and included documents to further their efforts, so we asked that they share their work within the collaborative. The Surgical Clinical Quality Reviewers (SCQRs) at these sites were asked to lead discussions on QI conference calls and respond to questions. MSQC formally recognized the exceptional work done at these hospitals by presenting these SCQRs and Surgeon Champions (SCs) with an award at the annual conference. The recipients of this recognition and a description of their projects can be found here.
