Description: The September MSQC Collaborative meeting brings surgeons together from across the state to hear presentations from speakers on a variety of topics that will address these knowledge gaps. We will host an interactive session on implicit bias in surgical care. Keynote speakers will focus on avoiding catheter injury and understanding the danger of cancer over-diagnosis. Additional speakers will present regarding quality improvement for breast cancer patients, and the day will include a patient/provider team testimonial.
After completing this activity, participants will be able to avoid catheter related harm in surgical patients, utilize opportunities at their home hospital for improving quality in breast cancer surgery, predict the risks associated with the over-diagnosis of a number of cancers, and practice ways to improve equity of care across genders.
