A new study from the Center for Evaluating Health Reform used MSQC’s data on rates of hospital-acquired conditions in 2010–18 to estimate the impact of the Hospital-Acquired Condition Reduction Program (HACRP).
The study found “that the HACRP was not associated with improvements in patient safety [and] raises questions as to whether national value-based payment programs are effective in reducing hospital-acquired conditions.”
