Researchers at Michigan OPEN studied MSQC patient-reported outcomes data to learn more about their postoperative opioid prescribing recommendations. The study findings have just been published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

- Postop opioid prescribing fell by ~30%
- Opioid consumption decreased by ~50%
- Patient-reported satisfaction with care and pain in the week after surgery remained stable
